News story - Free taster settling in sessions offered at St Petroc's Early Years
St Petroc's Early Years on Ocean View Road in Bude is offering free taster settling in sessions to parents and carers in the local area, so that children have the opportunity to experience the setting, meet the staff and other children, before parents make any commitments.
The Early Years provision at St Petroc's is available from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with lunch and an optional light tea available depending on the hours booked, 49 weeks a year. Free places are available through the 3-4 year old funding, plus for some 2 year olds whose parents meet the eligibility criteria.
Early Years Manager Tahira White, said: “The absolutely most important piece of advice I could offer anyone would be to come and visit us before making any decisions. Come and meet the staff, the pupils and even the parents. Get a feel for the building and the learning environment and the energy so prevalent within it. I completely understand that an Early Years setting is a significant choice, but it is also undoubtedly an investment. If you are able to come and interact with our community you will see some of the uniqueness that St Petroc's has to offer, and what makes us have that special 'family feel'.
The setting is split into three parts: 'Little Turtles' for babies from 3 months up to 2 years, 'Sea Lions' for 2 to 3 year olds, and 'Dolphins' for 3 and 4 year olds. Many of the children will move from the Dolphins pre-school to a variety of local primary state and independent prep schools, with dedicated practitioners on hand to help support children when they make that step to 'big school'.
Tahira added: “I am very proud of our Early Years setting and the children within it, and I would be delighted for you to come and see why”.
