Blog - Introducing our new 'school hours' sessions

As a setting, we are very keen to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our parents, carers and local community. We know that each family is different, and we will always try to find a solution to best suit your specific requirements when you reach out to us, to discuss your individual childcare needs.

We are very pleased to be introducing a new 'schools hours' session from September 2023. These sessions will run from 8am to 3:30pm, and will include breakfast, a morning snack and a cooked lunch which is all prepared on-site.

Our aim is that the timing of these sessions will allow working Mums and Dads to get ready for their day and drop off their child at our setting without having to worry about breakfast, plus collect siblings from local primary and secondary schools at the end of the day, if necessary.

As with our other full and half day sessions, our experienced Early Years team plan a wide range of activities for the children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage programme. Much time and effort is spent helping children to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem along the way. Help and support is also on hand to settle your child into the setting when they first start with us, plus preparing your child to transition to 'big school' when the time comes.

For children in receipt of 30 hours term-time funding, this would enable children to attend 4 days per week from 8am to 3:30pm, with only lunch being chargeable. A 5th day per week can of course be booked, but would need to be charged for as it would take parents over the 30 hours.

Children in receipt of 15 hours term-time funding would be able to attend 2 sessions per week from 8am to 3:30pm, and again lunch would be chargeable, plus additional sessions can be booked but would need to be paid for by parents.
